In the Tune of Local History: Songs about Sarasota County
In the days before television and social media, Sarasota County’s earliest promoters wrote a variety of songs for radio to sell our region as the perfect place to live.
Join Meg Lepak, of the Sarasota County History Center, and Jesse Martins, from the Sarasota Opera, and sing along as we explore Sarasota County history.

FOVL Annual Meeting
The Friends of Venice Library invite members as well as the Venice and Sarasota County communities to our annual meeting. Enjoy an update on the FOVL’s activities and contributions to the Dr. William H. Jervey Jr. Venice Public Library, the Friend’s bookstore and the Venice and Sarasota County communities. At the meeting, we will also highlight the programs we support thanks to the money earned through the bookstore, membership fees and investments.

Open Sewing Lab
Use one of four Brother sewing machines to work on your own projects. Must know how to sew. First come, first seated. Ages 13 and up. We have an Open Sewing Lab on March 3 and also March 17, both from 10 a.m. to noon.
